Historic Preservation Commission Meetings 2025

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) meets twice a month, typically on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Meetings are in the evening and always open to the public. View an official notice of all 2025 dates. Application deadlines are always 21 days prior to the meeting date.

The Historic Preservation Commission holds in-person meetings in the 2nd Floor Auditorium of the Wheaton Headquarters Building. Meeting attendees should take the elevator to the second floor and follow signs to the auditorium. Parking is available at the building garage or on the street nearby. Persons traveling via Metro should use the Wheaton station and exit to Reedie Drive.

Members of the public wishing to observe may attend in person or watch online.

Sign Up to Testify

Persons wishing to testify are requested to sign up no later than 9 a.m. the day before the hearing.

Members of the public or applicants may submit exhibits, via this email: mcp-historic@mncppc-mc.org. Comments received after the deadline will be included for the record, but not distributed for the HPC.

Final deadline for comments to be distributed: 10 a.m. the day before the hearing.

HAWP Applications

HAWP Applications are still being accepted electronically for review by the Historic Preservation Commission.

Applications should be made through the Department of Permitting Services website.

Please call the Historic Preservation Office 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. if you need assistance completing the application, and we will work with you.

All tree removal requests for dead, dying, diseased trees can still be submitted electronically to our office email at mcp-historic@mncppc-mc.org.

The HPC agenda is subject to change any time after printing or during the commission meeting. Please contact the Historic Preservation Commission staff at the email above to obtain current information.

Meeting Accessibility Policy

Sign language interpreter services and other auxiliary aids or services will be provided upon request with as much advance notice as possible, preferably at least five (5) full business days before the meeting.
