The Planning Department’s Functional Planning and Policy Division undertakes projects that span more than one geographic area, including environmental resources, historic preservation, transportation networks, and zoning text amendments. While much of the Department’s planning work is site-specific, our division considers planning and growth management on a countywide basis.
Among our tasks we produce functional master plans that address systems or policies, such as countywide mobility, agricultural preservation and housing.
Functional Planning and Policy staff cover:
- Growth Policy / Subdivision Staging Policy
- Historic Preservation
- Mobility (Transportation)
- Water Resources Plan
- Zoning Text Amendment on Short-Term Residential Rentals
