Apply to be a Member of the Great Seneca Science Corridor Implementation Advisory Committee

The Montgomery County Planning Department is seeking members of the community to participate in Great Seneca Science Corridor Implementation Advisory Committee. We are looking for members who represent the diverse perspectives and experiences within the Great Seneca Science Corridor Master Plan area. Selected candidates will serve alongside representatives from key stakeholder groups, including residents, property owners, and government representatives to provide input to the Montgomery County Planning Board and County Council on the implementation of the 2010 Great Seneca Science Corridor Master Plan and monitor development in the area.

Implementation Advisory Committee Duties

Members of the Implementation Advisory Committee will monitor implementation of the 2010 Great Seneca Science Corridor Master Plan as well as county programs and policies including the Capital Improvement Program and the Growth and Infrastructure Policy. The Implementation Advisory Committee will recommend action by the Montgomery County Planning Board and County Council to address issues that may arise, including but not limited to, community impacts and design, and the status and location of public facilities and open space.

The next two years of the Advisory Committee’s work will be critical to the area, due to ongoing master plans, including amendments to the 2010 Great Seneca Science Corridor Master Plan and Corridor Forward: The I-270 Transit Plan as well as anticipated development. The Advisory Committee meets monthly, as needed. Members must be available to attend evening meetings, be active participants in discussions, be open to considering different points of view, and serve as a liaison between the Advisory Committee and the community that each member represents.
