Montgomery Planning Board and Planning Department Announce September 2020 Online Events

Public invited to a virtual meeting for Corridor Forward Plan and Planning Board returns from recess.

WHEATON, MD – The Montgomery County Planning Board and the Montgomery County Planning Department, both part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), have announced their September 2020 calendar of online meetings. For more details, review the list of events below and visit www.montgomeryplanning.org.

During this time of social distancing in response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Planning Board will continue to hold public meetings online while Montgomery Planning’s new headquarters (2425 Reedie Dr, Wheaton, MD) is closed to the public. Community members may sign up to testify and provide comments to the Board on specific agenda items through written testimony, Microsoft Teams Live or phone during the meeting. The September schedule of events is subject to change based on the ongoing response to the COVID-19 virus.

There are many ways to participate during Planning Board meetings:

September 9 – The Historic Preservation Commission will hold its meeting online. Consult the HPC meeting webpage for agenda information. Watch the meetings online via live stream or review previous meetings on demand.

September 10 –The Planning Board will hold its meeting online. Consult the Planning Board’s agenda, posted 10 days before the meeting for more information. Watch the meetings online via live stream or review previous meetings on demand.

September 17 –The Planning Board will hold its meeting online. The Board will hold a public hearing  on the Ashton Village Center Sector Plan. Consult the Planning Board’s agenda, posted 10 days before the meeting for more information. Watch the meetings online via live stream or review previous meetings on demand.

September 23 – The Historic Preservation Commission will hold its meeting online. Consult the HPC meeting webpage for agenda information. Watch the meetings online via live stream or review previous meetings on demand.

September 24 –The Planning Board will hold its meeting online. Consult the Planning Board’s agenda, posted 10 days before the meeting for more information. Watch the meetings online via live stream or review previous meetings on demand.

September 30 – Attend an online meeting for the Corridor Forward: I-270 Transit Plan (12 to 1 p.m.). The Corridor Forward Plan is considering and prioritizing transit options along the I-270 Corridor between the City of Frederick, MD and Tysons, VA. The meeting will be held online via Microsoft Teams Live. RSVP to the meeting and we will provide an access link on the day of the meeting.
