Historic Area Work Permits Map

The Historic Preservation Office maintains records of all Historic Area Work Permits (HAWPs) dating to the creation of the program and the appointment of the first Historic Preservation Commission in 1980.

These records reflect changes over time to the historic resources governed by the county’s Historic Preservation Ordinance.

Over 3,000 HAWPs have been mapped to date, capturing records through 2009. An additional 1,200 permits have been scanned and will be mapped in the next phase of the project. Eventually, the Historic Preservation Office aims to upload approved HAWPs quarterly to maintain an up-to-date record of these permits.

The map may be searched by address or keyword to pull up relevant permits.
