Friendship Heights

Friendship Heights is a neighborhood that straddles the border between Washington D.C. and Montgomery County with the intersection of Western Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue at its center. The Maryland portion of Friendship Heights is bound by Chevy Chase Village to the east, the Town of Somerset to the north and the Brookdale neighborhood to the west. The neighborhood includes the Village of Friendship Heights, a special tax district that is primarily residential. Friendship Heights is served by a Metrorail station on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) red line and is home to several large retailers and a number of offices, including the corporate headquarters of insurance company GEICO.
