About the Art Review Panel

The Planning Department established the Art Review Panel in the late 1980s to review public art proposals from private developers and provide a final recommendation to the Planning Board. This group typically meets six times a year, plus holds an annual team-building retreat in August. All voting panelists may not miss any more than 2 meetings per year and the team-building retreat is mandatory. The meeting times, and dates are subject to change, based on the total number of submitted public art proposals, the panelists’ schedules or unforeseen conditions that might otherwise prohibit the meeting (such as inclement weather, cancellations or postponements). The Public Art Coordinator will provide notice to panelists well in advance of the scheduled meetings.
