SILVER SPRING, MD — At the organization’s annual luncheon today, the Montgomery County Women Business Owners (WBO) honored 25 outstanding women in the county, among them Park and Planning’s Development Review Chief Rose Krasnow.
Krasnow, the former mayor of Rockville, was selected by WBO for her high level of integrity as well as her success in putting plans in motion to build the new Rockville library and revitalize sections of the downtown area.
“There’s no doubt that Ms. Krasnow deserves the highest of accolades,” said Planning Board Chairman Derick Berlage, who attended the luncheon with Krasnow. “She has already made outstanding contributions to our agency.”
Krasnow joined the agency nearly 11 months ago to manage the development review division – which includes 31 staff members who are responsible for reviewing hundreds of complicated site plans, land records and development proposals each year.
Since she began her tenure at Park and Planning, she has played a key role in reforming the division’s internal and external review processes and investigating development problems in the town of Clarksburg.
Executive Director Trudye Johnson and Acting Deputy Director Bill Mooney also attended today’s luncheon with Krasnow.
