Twinbrook Community Center
Multipurpose Room # 1

Rockville, MD 20851

Purpose of the Meeting:

The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) will conduct a public meeting for its proposed Septage and FOG (Fats Oils and Grease) Discharge Facility which will be built at the site of the abandoned Rock Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 700 East Gude Drive in Rockville, Maryland.  This meeting is being held as part of the Mandatory Referral Process as required by the Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) for projects in Montgomery County.

Project Background

The proposed facility will replace the current Muddy Branch Road Disposal Site, and will allow WSSC to accept hauled waste from septic tanks and grease traps in a safer, more secure, and more efficient manner.

WSSC invites interested homeowners and civic associations to attend this meeting to gain information about traffic impacts, environmental impacts, forest clearing and replanting, and construction schedule.

The attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions and express any concerns about the project.

A map of the proposed facility location is shown below.
