This preliminary plan is a request by Dr. Jeffrey B. Walcoff to subdivide a 2.6 acre property into two lots to allow Dr. Walcoff build a veterinary hospital and an animal boarding facility on the front 2-acre (lot 1). The property is located on Frederick Road (MD 355) between Wims Road and Little Seneca Parkway near Running Brook Drive. It is adjacent to John Wesley United Methodist Church.

Planning Board Review Process & Case Number

Planning Board Action

On March 9, 2006, the Planning Board held a public hearing on the special exception cases. The Planning Board recommended denial of the special exception cases to the Board of Appeals due to the size (9,264 square feet) of the proposed facility. The applicant filed amendments to the cases. At a public hearing on September 14, 2006, the Planning Board recommended approval of the revised plans for the 6,610 square-foot facility.

At a public hearing on April 3, 2008, the Planning Board approved the preliminary plan for the property known as Bennett Creek. See attached Staff Report.
