So we're here on Bradley Boulevard, right under the Capitol Crescent Trail Description: Planner Eli Glazier standing on narrow sidewalk underneath pedestrian path access and bridge. to really understand the juxtaposition that we are in in Montgomery County, where we have some of the best pedestrian and bicycle facilities in the area, in the region, in the Capital Crescent Trail. Description: Shot of pedestrians and bikers on the Capital Crescent Trail. But we also have sidewalks with utility poles and other obstructions that make it difficult for people using wheelchairs or strollers to safely travel. Description: Shot of pedestrian walking dog on the narrow sidewalk. Description: Return to the shot of Eli on the narrow sidewalk. So what the pedestrian plan is really all about is trying to be aspirational. So our streets, the pedestrian experience on our streets is more like the Capitol Crescent Trail and less like this experience I'm having on Bradley Boulevard here, which is very similar to other state highways and other roads across Montgomery County, where you have a narrow sidewalk immediately next to six lanes of high speed traffic. So that's one of the key things the pedestrian plan is trying to accomplish.
