Apply to be a member of the Schools Technical Advisory Team (STAT)

Background

Every four years, the Montgomery County Planning Department reviews the Subdivision Staging Policy (SSP) to ensure that the tools used for evaluating the impact of development on essential public facilities reflect the latest growth patterns of the County. As part of the effort regarding public school facilities for the 2020 SSP Update, Montgomery Planning is seeking interested members of the community to participate in its Schools Technical Advisory Team (STAT). A key intent of the selection process is to recruit members who are able to represent the various needs and perspectives of our diverse communities. Selected candidates will serve alongside representatives from key stakeholder groups to support the staff in drafting recommendations.

STAT Duties

STAT members will serve as a link between their communities and planning staff. They will assist staff in the SSP update process by applying their community knowledge and technical expertise to share diverse perspectives and relevant information.  Members must be available to attend all meetings, be active participants in STAT discussions, and be open to considering different points of view.

The STAT will meet regularly between October 2019 through February 2020. Meetings will be held approximately once every three weeks on weekday evenings at the Planning Department (8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring). The tentative dates are:
