COVID-19 Information

Due to concerns over the potential for outbreaks of novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Montgomery County, The Maryland-National Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), which includes the Montgomery County Planning Department, is continuing to work closely with local public health authorities, emergency management offices and other local governmental agencies to keep informed and updated on the current coronavirus situation. As you may know, being prepared and taking preventive measures are the keys to keeping our employees and the community members we serve healthy.

Starting March 16, the Montgomery County Planning Department Headquarters (8787 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD) will be closed to the public. Staff will be operating on a telework schedule and will continue to accept development applications, work on master planning efforts and be available for any inquiries from the public during this time. Learn more about this announcement. M-NCPPC and Montgomery Planning will continue to monitor the situation and advise residents when closures to the public have been lifted. If we need to cancel in-person events, we will plan additional online meetings as appropriate.

Planning Board meetings are streamed live online and recorded for on-demand viewing at www.MontgomeryPlanningBoard.org/watch.

Our M-NCPPC Safety Office is available 24 hours / 7 days a week through the following numbers: (301) 395-0563; (301) 275-5126; (240) 393-0419.
