Employment Trends Study

The Planning Department is undertaking the Employment Trends Study to increase our understanding of employment trends and provide an assessment of the tools and strategies that we can use to support a range of employment opportunities. This study will look at employment holistically and explore employers’ requirements for expanding or relocating to the county.  Considered among these requirements are physical space, location, amenities, environment, infrastructure and talent.  The study will also examine the socio-economic implications of the changes occurring, or likely to occur, in the county’s job sectors. The analysis will identify zoning, master plan, urban design, transportation, infrastructure, amenities and other land use policy options that help the county support a range of employers.
