Planning Board and Planning Department Announce July 2018 Events

Public hearings will be held at the County Council for the Bicycle Master Plan and Technical Update to the Master Plan of Highways and Transitways

SILVER SPRING, MDThe Montgomery County Planning Board and the Planning Department, both part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, are pleased to announce their July 2018 calendar of events. These events offer opportunities for the Planning Department staff and Planning Board members to discuss projects and policies, and engage the public. Montgomery County Planning Department and Board Events in July 2018

July 1-31 – Check out the interactive Montgomery Planning React Map, launched on the Planning Department’s website, to provide feedback about the Forest Glen/Montgomery Hills Sector Plan area. Community residents and others are invited to click on a location on the interactive map and record their comments about existing conditions in that area to help guide plan recommendations. 

July 5 – The Planning Board will not hold a meeting in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

July 10 – The Montgomery County Council will hold public hearings for the Bicycle Master Plan and Technical Update to the Master Plan of Highways and Transitways in the Council Office Building’s Third Floor Hearing Room (100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD). Consult the County Council’s public hearings web page for details about signing up to testify.

July 11 – The Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission will hold a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Planning Department’s auditorium (8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD).

July 12 – The Planning Board will meet to discuss various regulatory cases and hold a work session for the Veirs Mill Corridor Master Plan. Consult the Planning Board meeting agenda, which will be posted online 10 days before the meeting date.

July 19 – The Planning Board will meet to discuss various regulatory cases. Consult the Planning Board meeting agenda, which will be posted online 10 days before the meeting date.

July 25 – The Montgomery County Historic Preservation Commission will hold a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Planning Department’s auditorium (8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD).

July 26 – The Planning Board will meet to discuss various regulatory cases and hold a work session for the MARC Rail Communities Sector Plan before its August recess. The Board will also review the US 29 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) as a mandatory referral. Consult the Planning Board meeting agenda, which will be posted online 10 days before the meeting date.
